On November 3, 2025, the Somerset County Board of Education announced David W. Bromwell as the interim Superintendent of Somerset County Public Schools. As a professional educator of 36 years, Mr. Bromwell brings a unique skillset to help get the district on track.
Mr. Bromwell stated that he is excited about the new interim position and said, "It's all about students first, professional staff second, and community third. Depending on the topic, any one of those can be first."
Bromwell explained that the highest priority will start with a focus on students and staff right out of the gate. He looks forward to visiting all of Somerset County Public Schools as soon as possible to meet staff, students, and members of the community.
The interim position will last up to a year, while the SCBOE searches for a 4-year Superintendent for the district.
The Delmarva Parent Teacher Coalition welcomes Mr. Bromwell to the district.
