Moore's Hypocritical Stance Towards Trump's School Choice Option

Governor Wes Moore, Democrat of Maryland, is often an enigma when it comes to certain decisions.

There can be no doubt, however, that he is elitist, hypocritical, and completely motivated by politics and money, particularly when it comes to school choice in the State of Maryland. Last year, Moore worked against the approval of the BOOST program which allows inner city students to leave failing city schools and attend the private school of their choice.

Now he is "undecided" as to whether he will allow the citizens of Maryland to use the school choice provision in Trump's Big Beautiful Bill which was recently passed in Congress.

From Forbes: Eligible American taxpayers who earn up to 300% of their area's median income can donate up to $1,700 to an eligible educational non-profit and receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit. The donation would be awarded in the form of a scholarship by private schools to fund tuition, boarding, books, and other expenses for students.

States must opt in to the tax credit, so it may not be available everywhere.

Did we say that Moore himself attributes HIS success in life and ability to be elected governor to his being able to attend a PRIVATE SCHOOL instead of the public school in his area? He makes a huge deal of it in his book THE OTHER WES MOORE.

It seems he has forgotten that. Or maybe, like many Democrats in Maryland, Moore has the attitude that regular citizens of the state aren't worthy of the same choice. "Privilege for me but not thee," seems to be their mantra. Let's not forget that legislators like Delegate Vanessa Atterbeary, Democrat, Howard County, worked to force students in public schools to be indoctrinated in gender ideology despite the beliefs of their parents. Atterbeary's children attended an expensive private school in Howard County.

Moore's insistence is that Maryland has a "world class" public school system.

Many parents would disagree. Others would ask, "by which measure?"

Currently, Maryland's test scores in Reading and Math show the following:

Doesn't seem world class. So, why is Moore saying that?

Aside from being oblivious to the plight of public-school students in Maryland, particularly in the bottom systems in the state, Moore might be under the control of special interests.

Remember, Moore said this to the union after this endorsement: “Nothing about you without you. You are going to have a true partner in Annapolis.”

He also said about the multi-billion-dollar Blueprint for Maryland's Future, an initiative pushed by the teachers unions. “The Blueprint: I will fund it, but we will implement it together,”

The Union repaid him with donations such as this $130,000 ad campaign:

Moore raised a record $4.8 million during his campaign. MSEA played a huge part in that.

There is no doubt how the Maryland State Education Association feels about school choice.

They hate it and oppose it at every opportunity. They hate competition which forces them to do what is best for students.

The politicians, such as Moore, feel the same.

Throughout his term, Moore fights against anything that helps the middle class and even those he claims he fights for, the economically disadvantaged.

He truly is a hypocrite.
