Financial Literacy In Our Schools - House Bill 630

February 9, 2022 - For Immediate Release


Meeting with Delegate Brooks: Dr. Khazeh, Salisbury University, and Edward Lee met with Delegate Benjamin Brooks, Baltimore County, on Friday February 4th, 2022. Delegate Brooks is the lead sponsor of House Bill 630, “Public High Schools-Financial Literacy Pilot Program -Establishment”, see attached bill. The bill is scheduled to be heard before the Ways & Means Committee on February 17th at 3:00 pm.

Oral Testimony: The hearing is virtual. Because it is virtual, advocate oral testimony will be limited. Dr. Khazeh and I have been asked to submit oral testimony asking for a favorable report on HB630 that will be before the Ways and Means Committee on the 17th.

Unlimited Written Testimony: However, written testimony in unlimited. Delegate Brooks “encourages” written testimony. “…All written testimony MUST be received by our offices not later than Monday, February 14th by 8:00 pm.“ The email address is: Benjamin.Brooks@house.state.md.us.
